Dr. Jonathan Hoffman is a licensed psychologist and Board-Certified expert in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. He is the Chief Clinical Officer and Co-Founder of the Neurobehavioral Institute (NBI) and NBI Ranch, where he leads clinical innovation and care. Dr. Hoffman serves on the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and co-chairs the OCD and Autism Special Interest Group. He is the author of Stuck: Understanding Asperger’s Syndrome and Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviors and has published widely on OCD, anxiety, and autism. Dr. Hoffman is a sought-after speaker and educator on OCD and autism-related topics for both professional and public audiences.

Dr. Katia Moritz is a licensed psychologist and the Co-Founder and Chief Clinical Officer of the Neurobehavioral Institute (NBI), where she specializes in treating severe anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. She is also the founder of NBI Ranch, a residential supportive living program, and plays a key role in training clinical staff and developing innovative treatment programs. Board-certified in cognitive and behavioral psychology, Dr. Moritz serves on advisory boards for the IOCDF and HAAPE and is a Fellow of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. She is also an author of several clinical resources and children’s books on OCD. Dr. Moritz directed the award-winning documentary Undiagnosed – The Future of Medicine, which has received international recognition.

Dr. David Tolin is the Founder and Director of the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living, and an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. He is the Director of Clinical Science at NBI. He is the Past-President of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the Past-President of the Clinical Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association, and a principal investigator for the National Institutes of Health. He received the Awards for Distinguished Contribution to the Science of Psychology, Distinguished Contribution to the Practice of Psychology, and Lifetime Contribution to Psychology from the Connecticut Psychological Association, as well as the Clinical Science Visionary Award from the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Tolin is the author of over 250 scientific journal articles, as well as several books, including Doing CBT: A Comprehensive Guide to Working with Behaviors, Thoughts, and Emotions, Buried in Treasures: Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding and Face Your Fears: A Proven Plan to Beat Anxiety, Panic, Phobias, and Obsessions.

Dr. Abramovitch is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a research affiliate at the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (CORD) at Massachusetts General Hospital. His prior experience includes serving as a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, teaching at Harvard University, and, most recently, holding a tenured position as an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Texas State University, where he founded and directed the Neuropsychology and Psychopathology Lab.
Dr. Abramovitch has published over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and serves on several journal editorial boards. He holds several leadership positions including Associate Editor roles for several journals, including the Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders. Dr. Abramovitch’s primary research interests include the neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and the impact of psychopathology on cognitive functioning. He has also developed and published several self-report measures for adult and pediatric OCD, and for Tourette’s Syndrome. Additionally, he is interested in the transition of OCD from childhood to adulthood and the effectiveness of exposure and response prevention (ExRP) treatment for OCD in real-world private practice settings. In his private practice, Dr. Abramovitch provides empirically supported psychotherapy and specialized neuropsychological assessments.

Jillian Armstrong Motta is a Licensed Behavior Analyst and Associate Director of the Executive Functioning and Behavioral Program at NBI. She has been with the program since its founding and specializes in helping individuals build executive functioning skills through behavior change. Mrs. Armstrong Motta earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Miami and her M.A. in Professional Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology. Her work combines practical strategies with compassion. She plays a key role in supporting patient success through structured interventions and team collaboration.

Dr. Fernanda Arruda is the Director of Clinical Services at NBI and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology and a specialization in Neuropsychology. Originally licensed in Brazil, she brings extensive international experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and neuropsychological assessment for individuals with anxiety, mood, and neurological conditions. After relocating to the U.S., she completed her doctoral training at Florida Atlantic University and joined NBI in 2022. Dr. Arruda is especially passionate about enhancing clients’ executive functioning and social skills to promote independence and quality of life. In her leadership role, she ensures individualized, practice-based care that extends beyond the clinical setting.

Yaneth Beltran, RD, LDN, CEDS-C, is a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of experience and expertise in nutrition-related factors impacting overall health. She practiced at an Eating Disorder Center for ten years and joined the Neurobehavioral Institute in 2017 as a Nutritionist. Ms. Beltran holds a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist designation from the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) and has been an active member of the iaedp South Florida Chapter since 2018, serving in roles including Secretary, Treasurer, and, for the past two years, Sponsorship Chair. Beyond providing individualized nutritional counseling, Ms. Beltran provides group facilitation for meal planning workshops, cooking groups, and supermarket tours. These practical, engaging programs foster mindful nourishment and empower participants to make informed nutritional choices. Recently, Ms. Beltran assisted in the development of an Eating Disorder Master’s program at a college in Spain.

She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, where she completed a 12-month rotation at the Anxiety Treatment Center and her clinical internship at Broward Health Medical Center. Dr. Violante integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and related challenges. She is passionate about working with adults in both individual and group therapy and is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, providing therapy in all three languages. Dr. Denise Hardt is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Certified Mental Health Professional (CMHP) at NBI. Originally from Brazil, she is also a licensed psychologist there and has over 35 years of experience in Behavioral Therapy. Dr. Hardt taught university-level courses for more than two decades and led academic programs in psychology. At NBI, she helps clients understand the function of their behaviors and develop adaptive skills for success. She brings deep clinical expertise to her work with patients.

Dr. Kajani has provided care across diverse medical and mental health settings, using evidence-based interventions such as CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Dr. Ciana Mickolus is a licensed psychologist practicing in Florida and New York and has authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), granted by the PSYPACT Commission. At NBI, she specializes in treating obsessive compulsive disorders and related conditions, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and eating disorders/disordered eating. Dr. Mickolus uses CBT and received formal training in SPACE and the Comprehensive Behavioral Model for the treatment of body-focused repetitive behaviors. Her clinical approach is evidence-based, and highly individualized. In addition to treatment, she also provides training, individual supervision, and group supervision. She is a Qualified Supervisor and oversees the postdoctoral training program at NBI.

Dr. Wilfredo Rivera-Pérez is the Clinical Director at NBI Coral Gables and a bilingual licensed psychologist with expertise in OCD, anxiety, Tourette’s Syndrome, and impulse-control challenges. Dr. Jennifer Staller is a clinical psychologist licensed in Florida and she holds the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) in her home State of Florida from the PSYPACT Commission. Throughout her career, she has worked with parents and families in numerous settings. At the Neurobehavioral Institute (NBI) Dr. Staller provides individual, parenting, group, and family therapy to individuals and their families. She coordinates the parenting intensive training program and customizes the curriculum for each parent participating. She has worked with NBI directors to write NBI’s parenting manual, and establish the curriculum for the parenting group. Dr. Staller presented at IOCDF on parenting-related topics.
